Add and manage stock items
Create stock items with SKU, cost, low-stock alerts, tags and an item type, then search and filter them.
Stock Items is the list of everything you keep.
Add an item
- Open Stock Items and choose to add one.
- Fill in the details:
- Name - for example "100nF Ceramic Capacitor".
- SKU - your own code, such as CAP-100NF-0805.
- Description and Unit - how it is counted.
- Cost Price (£) - the price per unit. Used to work out your stock value.
- Low Stock Alert @ - the quantity at which it counts as low stock. Leave it at 0 for no alert.
- Tags - one tag per tag group. See Use tags to organise your stock.
- Item type - to record type-specific details such as resistance or voltage. See Item types and spec fields.
- Assembly / Kit - tick this if the item is made from other items.
- Notes - Save.
A barcode and QR code are generated for the item automatically.
Add stock
Adding an item does not put any quantity on the shelf. Open the item's locations panel and add stock at a location. See Receive, move and adjust stock.
Find things
- Search by name, description or barcode.
- Filter by location or by tags.
- If you use item types, filter by type and by that type's fields, such as a resistance range.
Low stock
An item shows Low Stock when its total is at or below its alert level (and the alert level is above 0). These appear on the dashboard so you can reorder in good time.
Print a label
Use Print barcode on an item's row to print its label. See Print QR codes for items and locations.
Show or hide columns
Use the column button above the table to choose which columns you see.
